As a third-generation racer, Jesse was always born to race. The Lacey family has a steep history in Speedway racing with multiple Australian titles to the name. Jesse has grown up with
pure racing blood and soon enough proved it.
He began racing in 2016 at the age of 9.
In his first year of racing, he won the Australian
Karter of the year award for Cadet 9 drivers.
Fast forward six years and he took on the world’s
best drivers... and won!
Competing in his first Overseas race in October 2019, he was the fastest driver out of 150 entrants in the Mini Rok Worlod Cup in Italy, putting his kart on pole.
He then successfully won the prestigious Sahi Trophy against 100 other karters from all over the globe.
In 2021, Jesse was the winner of the Australian and NZ FDA talent search, and as a result he flew to Italy and attended the Ferrari driver academy in October. He competed against 3 other candidates selected from all over the world. The winner would receive a contract with Ferrari in 2022 to drive a Formula Four in the Italy Championship.
Jesse was the youngest of the 4 drivers, and the least experienced. While he was not the eventual winner for 2021, he pitted himself extremely well against some very talented young men. The experience was amazing and it has only made him more committed.
